As more and more companies shift their workforces to a remote work structure, Ruby is dedicated to continuing to deliver our world class service to you, your business, and your customers. We have a toolbox full of features that can help facilitate you and your employees to work from a non-office environment. 

We’ve gathered a collection of our most applicable features for you below, as well as some outside resources. If you have any questions about these features or adjusting your account to allow you and your employees to work remotely, the Customer Happiness team is glad to assist.

Conducting Your Business from the Ruby App          
Download or upgrade to the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play.

Ruby’s Mobile App. Ruby in your pocket! Take a walk through the app’s main features.

Helpful Features: 

  • See the latest updates. As we continue to monitor and adjust to the situation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, we’ll push any updates to our service and service levels to you proactively when you open the app.
  • Check your call, message, and voicemail activity. Available on the home screen and from the Activity option on the bottom menu.
  • Set your status. If you’d like us to route calls to your cell, home, or other number, you can set that by using a Status. Learn how here!
  • Place business calls. If your business number is hosted by Ruby, you can use the app to spoof your caller ID to appear as your business number for outbound calls. If your business number is not hosted by Ruby, you can still use this feature to place outbound calls. You have the option to spoof calls to appear to come from your Ruby forwarding number, allowing you to hide your personal cell number from your clients. If anyone calls back to your Ruby forwarding number, their call will ring directly to your Ruby account. You can read the details about using this feature here
  • Request call assists. Too busy to return a call? We’ll do it for you! Learn how to ask us to make an outbound call assist for you here.
  • Update your voicemail greeting. It’s easy to record a custom voicemail message about any changes you’ve made to your office. Learn how to record your own voicemail greeting here
  • Text from your business number.* Another quick and convenient way to connect with your callers. Details are available here.
  • Ruby call-forwarding.* Turn your Ruby service on and off, right from your phone. Learn how here!
  • Access the Ruby Help Center. Questions? Our Help Center is here to…well, help! Find it by tapping the three dots in the top-right.

Make the Most of the Online Portal        
Access our online portal at my.call-ruby.com. It uses the same login as our app, and it’s easy to set up your password if this is your first time logging in.

Helpful Features:

  • Check your call and message activity. Available on the home screen and from the Activity option on the left-side menu.

Optimize Your Call-Handling Instructions       
Temporarily change where we’re sending your calls. While you’re working remotely, we can connect your calls to your cell phone, home number, a Skype line, or just take messages instead! The easiest way to set this up is by updating your Status from the app or online portal. A detailed article is available here!

If your update should apply to your whole company, or if you need to update your default call-handling instructions permanently, you’re also welcome to reach out to the Customer Happiness team at staff@ruby.com. We’d be happy to get your call-handling instructions updated from our end.

Update your voicemail. If you have important information about your availability to relay to your afterhours callers, you can record a customized voicemail greeting using our app or the online portal. Find the steps here.

Take advantage of call assists. If you’re in an environment not conducive to making a business call, or if you’re just plain too busy, we can help! Learn how to ask us to make outbound call assists for you here.

Consider Live Chat       
We're delighted to provide live, friendly people to answer chat on your website to better capture leads, as well as serve and support your website visitors.
