Ruby Call-Forwarding

September 21st, 2023

If Ruby is hosting your business number, you’re able to access our Call-Forwarding feature from the Ruby mobile app and the online portal. This allows you to turn your Ruby service on and off right from your Ruby account!

If your business number is hosted by an outside provider, click here to learn about your forwarding options.

From the App
Tap on the 3 dots in the top-right corner to access More options, and select Call-Forwarding under the Settings heading. From there, you have the following options.

  • Allow Call Forwarding toggled off means that Ruby will answer all your calls.
  • Toggling Allow Call Forwarding On gives you the option to have all calls from your Ruby number sent to a custom number. Calls to your Ruby number will ring directly to the number you input.
  • Ticking the If no answer, forward to Ruby option will set calls to ring to the number you selected first, and then roll over to Ruby if you don't answer within the first few rings. This gives you the chance to answer your calls when you're available, with Ruby waiting in the wings as backup if you get busy!

From the Online Portal
To access call-forwarding online, log in to your account at my.call-ruby.com and go to Account, then Settings from the menu on the left.

  • If Call-Forwarding is toggled Off, calls will ring directly to Ruby to handle.

  • Toggle Call-Forwarding On to forward your calls to a cell phone or direct line.
  • Ticking the If no answer, forward to Ruby box will set calls to ring to the number you selected first, and then roll over to Ruby if you don't answer within the first few rings. This gives you the chance to answer your calls when you're available, with Ruby waiting in the wings as backup if you get busy!
