Robocall Filtering

April 22nd, 2024

The number of robocalls and spam callers has increased exponentially over the last few years, but don’t let these pesky solicitations ruin your day! Ruby is happy to activate our Robocall Filtering feature at your request.

With Robocall Filtering on, any calls that are flagged as “highly likely" to be a robocall will be automatically routed to your Ruby voicemail box, rather than ring to a receptionist to handle live. If a voice message is left, you can listen to it and view the transcription on the Ruby app or the online portal. A link to the audio will also be sent to you via email. Any calls screened as robocalls will be denoted in your call activity with a robot icon, whether a voice message is left or not, for your reference.

Additionally, since these calls are no longer being handled by a live receptionist, they will not count towards your billable receptionist minutes.

How It Works
We utilize Nomorobo to screen out robocalls. Every day, they automatically analyze millions of real calls to detect robocalling patterns and to catch voice spammers spoofing their Caller ID. With an accuracy rate of over 98% and a false positive rate that's less than 0.25%, you can be sure that bad calls are blocked and good calls get through.

The Federal Trade Commission, the very people that created the Do Not Call list, chose Nomorobo as the winner of the FTC Robocall Challenge. Nomorobo is over 98% accurate and has a false positive rate that's less than 0.25%.

Any calls that are flagged by the program will then be automatically routed to your Ruby voicemail box directly. Since no service is 100% accurate, this still allows legitimate callers who are accidentally flagged to leave a voicemail for you.

We do not currently have a way to adjust the robocall screening threshold, so feel welcome to let us know at any time if you'd like to opt out of this feature.
